This privacy-protection utility boasts just about all the features we like to see, although its design scheme could use some work. It isnt immediately clear how to configure and run Evidence Eliminator, but the Options button is where youll do most of your work. Of course, the application can scrub away Web-surfing tracks from several browsers, including Internet Explorer, Netscape, and Opera. In addition to cleaning common areas of your Windows system, the program supports many third-party programs. Curiously, though, the only chat client it can clean is AIM. You can wipe away all tracks or shred files according to several secure algorithms, and you can run the application in stealth mode. Also, though Evidence Eliminator lacks a scheduling feature, maintenance tools such as a Registry cleaner and a junk-file eliminator help compensate. However, it may not be ideal for multitaskers, as we experienced some sluggishness when the program was doing its work. Though Evidence Eliminators $149 price tag seems a bit absurd, it offers enough pluses to at least warrant a try.
